Did I ever tell you guys about how Roy and I met?
We worked at Ernie Biggs Piano Bar together circa 2006. He was the bouncer; I was the waitress. It was a Lifetime Original Movie in the making – if those movies had completely inappropriate (and hilarious) music laced with blatantly sexual innuendos playing on the piano the background in a loud, smoke-filled room. Ahhhh, memories! I never thought that my “networking” at the P-Bar would really get me anything other than a free drink or two in my life. Well, kids. I’m here to tell you it can get you MORE!
Fast forward to 2015 – Roy and I had our 7 year anniversary this past June. It was only fitting to go downtown and visit the Piano Bar to see if any familiar faces were in attendance. During our long nights of working at the P-Bar, we worked with a talented drummer: Justin Gabossi. Justin was at the Piano Bar during our anniversary date. These days, Justin tours with the local sensation: Members Only. They are an amazing 80’s tribute band. If you haven’t seen them live, YOU MUST – see notes below! He talked to us about an amazing opportunity in terms of raising local funds and awareness for Congenital Heart Defects (CHDs). It turns out that the Members Only band chooses a charity for each gig. There is a promotion for the fans to help raise funds, and the band members contribute as well. Justin wanted to help with CHD Awareness! (insert happy dance)
So, that long story brings me to my main point…..
